Vanesa is a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes in meeting where individuals are within the counseling relationship. She believes change takes a team, starting from the therapeutic relationship and building into one’s natural support system. She has experience working with teenagers and adults, both in an individual and family setting. Vanesa is passionate about working with the Spanish-speaking community as she is bilingual and understands the cultural factors coming from an Argentinian/Bolivian background.

She utilizes person-centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches. As appropriate, Vanesa also utilizes art activities in building rapport or discussing subjects that can be difficult to put into words.

Vanesa has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. She then attained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University in Washington D.C. During her professional experience she has met clients in a Community Center in Washington D.C., the public school system in Montgomery County, and an outpatient setting in Northern Virginia.

She is a native of Northern Virginia, having immigrated with her family at the age of two. Vanesa loves to stay active by running, cycling, and taking walks with her family. She and her husband have one son and a Siberian Husky.
